As floor leader, Rep. Pouha was involved in shaping policy through well conducted House Floor sessions and also in numerous committee hearings. Rep. Pouha also discussed and negotiated outcomes of legislation with key legislators. Rep. Pouha also developed positive working relationships with Representatives, Senators and Governor Ige, his Office and Department Leadership.
LEGISLATIVE COMMITTEE MEMBERSHIPS – Serves on the House Standing Committees on:
- Energy & Environmental Protection

As a member of these key committees, Rep. Feki Pouha helps bring resources as well as attention to the needs of the district.
LEGISLATIVE & HOME GROWN SUCCESS!
Helped secure the Turtle Bay Conservation Easement Purchase – When Senate Bill 284 (SB284) died in the House, Rep. Pouha worked hard with key legislators to revive and successfully navigate SB284 through the House of Representatives. In short, SB284 brought $35 million dollars into our community! SB284 conserved over 600 acres of prime real property forever and also paved the way for more jobs and economic opportunities for the 47th House district. Rep. Pouha is proud of his work to support conservation as well as the economic engines of our district and state!
Co-founded KFAST (Kahuku Facilities Advancement Support Team) – Rep. Pouha was allowed by Kahuku High & Intermediate School (KHIS) Principal, Pauline Masaniai, to organize a grassroots task force partnership to address the great need for school facilities improvement at various levels. KFAST brought together administrators, community & labor leaders, contractors, construction companies, other business owners, private institutions, legislative leadership and others in organizing and finding solutions to various facilities needs. Creative and collaborative solutions were many including using recycled asphalt to cover the dusty/muddy parking areas as well as completion of over 25 volunteer projects.
Secured $3,000,000 for Kahuku High & Intermediate School Facilities – Rep. Pouha worked hard to get key legislators to appropriate funding to improve facilities at Kahuku High & Intermediate. This appropriation will be used to replace the old wooden bleachers at the Athletic Field, along with upgrades to the restroom also at the field. Any remaining funds will go towards helping the flooding situation at the field. This major appropriation is key in highlighting the work of Rep. Pouha at the Capitol and within the community with such efforts as KFAST. Rep. Pouha can continue to support our public schools if voters support his re-election in August and November!
